Class Activities: Lesson 1 in packet, Content is differentiated by giving each student a unique example of Hammurabi's Code to read & interpret then they share their findings to construct a complete picture of Mesopotamian life.

Students use information obtained thus far to answer lesson essential question, which is individually reviewed for accuracy and feedback by teacher (formative assessment). Problem Solving Activity: Students and teach discuss the similarities and differences between Egypt and explore possible explanations for this.

Topic: The Hebrews and Zoroastrians

Class Activities: Lesson 2 in packet, Slide Show with Discussion: analysis of similarities and differences between monotheistic and polytheistic religions through Socratic questioning to activate prior knowledge and to illustrate the impact of cultural diffusion using the development of religion as an example.
